This lighter produces a very windproof flame, more windproof than any conventional 'needle flame' jet lighter. This produces a cone shaped flame. Excellent and easy to use, lights 1st time 99.9% of the time. Very Japanese - razor-sharp , reliable and economical etc - all the traits you'd expect from a japanese product. Interestingly, i had a misfire one time which is to say i fired the lighter but it didn't light, usually i'd retry , however i kept holding onto the gas button for about 15 secs and then afterwards this changed the characteristic of the lighter. It went from producing the usual pale blue flame to making an orange flame - which is even cooler ! I don't know if this damaged the lighter in some way or as i suspect it was always gonna happen this way once the lighter got worked in over time. Either way , this orange flame is awesome - never seen another jetlighter with this color flame ! And it seems to still operate flawlessly anyway. I do know enough about japanese products to know that quite often they have a quirk which takes time to discover, but like i said it seems to be a very sharp and reliable lighter once worked in.
Have to mention that LightersDirect were very professional in their communication and shipped the lighter very promptly and packaged it very carefully. Wouldn't hesitate to buy again from these guys. by quoc h. Apr 15, 2012
